Santa Cecilia granite is a common type of intrusive, felsic, igneous rock. Santa Cecilia granites may have a medium to coarse grained texture, and occasionally some of the individual crystals called phenocrysts may be larger than the groundmass, in which case the Santa Cecilia granite texture can be known as porphyritic.
Santa Cecilia granite comes in shades of gold, brown and beige, the frequency of the colors and their hue can depend on the granites chemistry and/or mineralogy. Santa Cecilia granite is often massive (lacking internal structures), hard and tough, and is therefore coveted amongst builders and home owners.
